Who we are

Expatlas is a comparison and discovery site for European digital nomad visas. The site is operated from the EU.

What we collect

• Source country preference (cookie). When you select your passport in the header, we store the value (e.g. US) in a first-party cookie named expatlas_source_country for one year. This is a functional cookie under GDPR: it stores your stated preference and is not used for advertising or tracking.
• Aggregated analytics. We use Vercel Analytics (operated by Vercel Inc., USA), a cookieless analytics service. It records page views, referrers, and aggregate device, browser, and country data without setting cookies or storing personal identifiers in your browser. To count unique visits, Vercel generates a daily-rotating, salted hash from your IP address and user-agent on the server side; the inputs are discarded after hashing and the salt rotates every 24 hours, so the hash cannot be linked across days. No advertising profile is built. Data is processed in the United States under Vercel's GDPR data-processing terms.
• Affiliate click destinations. When you click a partner link (insurance, fintech, immigration lawyer), the partner may track the click using their own systems. We do not control or receive that data beyond aggregate commission reports.
• Email you send us. If you contact us by email, we keep the message until we have answered it and for a reasonable period after.

What we do not collect

• No advertising cookies or third-party trackers.
• No fingerprinting.
• No account is required to use the site.
